Janet Mongold

Janet Mongold, 85, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2016. Janet was a long-time active member of Millheim Baptist Church where she led the ladies Bible study for many years. She retired from Akron General Medical Center in 1995 after 17 years of service. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily, and loved spending time with her family and camping.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Riley Evans; first husband, Eugene Sharpless; sisters, Betty Paugh and Sherry Whitacre; and brother, Bill Evans.

She will be missed by her loving husband of 37 years, Joseph Mongold; children, Linda (Brad) Birch, Beth (Robert) Harper, Marvin (Marsha) Sharpless, Mike Sharpless, and Joey (Jennifer) Mongold; sister, Colleen Whitacre; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm at Millheim Baptist Church, 2661 Hayne Rd., Akron, OH 44312. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Janet's name to Millheim Baptist Church.
