Laura J. Bucy

Laura June Bucy (Colgan), 86, passed on from this life July 22, 2016, after a long illness. Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. June was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, the love of her life, James O. Bucy, Sr.; her daughter, Linda Uebelacker; her brother, John Colgan; her grandson, Timothy Snyder; and great-granddaughter, McKenna Bucy.
June leaves behind her children, Carol (Jack) Snyder, James (Patty) Bucy, Jr., John "Pastor Steven" (Mary) Bucy, Nancy (Al) Kochis; her sister, Sandra "Kay" (Robert) Heimbaugh; ten grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. June's family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the joy of her life.
She enjoyed listening to country music, solving crossword puzzles, cooking and baking, reading and was a phenomenal seamstress. Spending time surrounded by her family made her the happiest.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, Akron. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Chapel Hill Nursing Care and Summa Hospice for all their support and care in her final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
