Robert R. Hinton Jr.

Robert R. Hinton Jr., 85, of Akron, went to be with Jesus on November 18, 2016. He was born in Akron on December 22, 1930 to the late Robert Hinton Sr. and Liles Hinton.
Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy onboard the U.S.S. Newport News and retired from Wayside Furniture after 34 years of service. He was a devoted member of Springfield Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hinton and son, David Baughard. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Betty; sons, Robert Hinton III (Pamela), Jeffrey Hinton (Maria), and James Baughard; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Springfield Baptist Church, 1920 Krumroy Rd, Akron, OH 44312. Interment at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
