Thomas R. Leffler

Thomas R. Leffler, 86, passed away November 26, 2016. He was born in Akron on April 18, 1930 to William P. and Katherine R. Leffler. He attended St. Vincent High School before entering the US Marine Corps in 1948, serving until October 1952. He was a master plumber and the owner of W. P. Leffler Plumbing and Heating until his retirement. An Akron resident for nearly all of his years, Tom cherished his family and supported his children's and grandchildren's interests and activities. He loved fishing at Leesville Lake with the men and grandsons of the family and trips to Florida to see his son Jeff. He was an avid sports fan of the Zips, Browns, Cavs and Indians.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Carol. He was a devoted father and is survived by his children Tom (Denise), Jeff, Theresa Hagle (Mike), Susan Guban (Jack Blaurock) and Liz Lattimer (Don). He will be missed by his grandchildren Steven Guban (Kristen), Andrew Guban (Lindsey), Annie Chapman (Ryan), Sarah Carver (Justin), Jeremy Foley (Katie Hains), Mark Leffler (Julianne), Patricia Hagle, Jennifer Michael (Tim), Jessica Foley, Dan Leffler (Morgan), Denise Hagle (Brad Thompson) and Michael Hagle and great-grandchildren Ben and Bryce Chapman, Kai Guban, Leah and Drew Leffler. He is also survived by his sister Mary Miner, brother-in-law Joe Kelly (Margie), life-long friends Jim and Marie Henry, Larry Jenco, who he considered as another son and Dr. Erwin Maseelall who took care of him for forty years.

Friends may call on Wednesday, November 30 from 4-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent Church Thursday, December 1 at 10:30 a.m. Internment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
