Donald L. Reed

Donald Lee Reed, 85, of Green passed away on March 4, 2017 surrounded by three generations of family and friends. Don was born in Randolph County, West Virginia to Harrison and Floda (Mallow) Reed on April 12, 1931. He retired from Asplundh Tree Company. He was quite the jokester, a great story teller and a master deer hunter. A loving, genuine person who loved to spoil Alice.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by wife, Anne Reed; daughter, Vicki Kirk, 2 brothers and 8 sisters.

He will be deeply missed by his love, Alice Galit; children, Gary (Barb) Shyjka, Dave (Jan) Shyjka, Kathy Corley and Donny Reed, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, Robert (Rachel) Reed and special friends Linda and Larry Carrington, and nephew Mason (Bonnie) Blackburn.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, 44305, where the funeral service will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11 AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
