Larry W. Memmer

Lawrence W. Memmer, 69, passed away unexpectedly April 20, 2017. He was born Nov. 27, 1947 in Akron, OH to Ann Memmer and the late William V. Memmer. After graduating from Manchester High School he started employment at Babcox and Wilcox in Barberton, OH where he retired after 47 1/2 years. He proudly served in the Air Force from 1967-71 and the Army National Guard from 71-81. Larry enjoyed traveling, retirement and being a grandpa.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia A. Memmer, and daughter, Carrie Memmer. He leaves behind his wife, Ruth Memmer; daughter, Tammie (Stephen) Memmer-Prentiss; grandchildren, Tristan and Elizabeth; bonus children, Debbie (Kenny) Lewis, Marilyn Mikel, Lynn French; extended bonus family, mother, Ann Memmer; siblings, Dennis (Vickie) Memmer, Ronald Memmer, William (Linda) Memmer, James (Sandi) Memmer, Barbara Marinics; and lots of extended family and friends.

Family will welcome guests on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, from 4:00-7:00pm followed by a memorial service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.CFKadopt.org or Akron Children's Hospital.
