Rose Cherry Hayes, age 92 of Akron, Ohio, passed peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2017.
She was born on January 7, 1925 in Akron, the daughter of the late John C. and Nellie E. Wynosky Cherry.
Rose was a 1945 graduate of the Ohio School of the Deaf in Columbus. She was a homemaker and her greatest joy was being with her family.
Other than her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Hayes, Jr. on August 4, 1984; her daughter, Patsy Haidet; her sister, Helen Beinecke.
Survivors include her son, Charles J. (Deby) Hayes, and her daughter, Helen C. (James) Dietz; her grandchildren, Melissa Fouse, Jennifer (Tim Roach) Hayes, Ryan (Leah) Haidet, Jonathon (Jenn) Hayes, Joshua Dietz, Rosie (Joe) Steiner, Jamie Dietz, and Gregory Dietz; her great-grandchildren, Daisy, Summer, Amber, Evan, Colin, and Finnegan.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 7:30 PM.
Family and friends may visit from 6:00 PM until the time of the service.
