Shanna Marie Williams, age 39, of Mogadore, Ohio, who after battling a short illness, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Shanna was born on August 23, 1977 in Akron, Ohio.
She graduated from Mogadore High School in 1996, where, in her senior year, she was the Homecoming Queen.
After high school, Shanna attended both, the University of Akron and Stark State College, earning a degree in Sociology. Following college, she was employed as a Juvenile Diversion Case Worker for the Mogadore Police Department.
Shanna is survived by and will be forever remembered by her 2 year old son, Layten Adkins. Shanna will be greatly missed by her mother, Debbie Wade and step-father, Eddie Scheck; she will also be greatly missed by her father, Allen Williams and step-mother, Sheila Swiger, and her step-brother, Alex Rogers; Shanna will be deeply missed by her brother, Ryan "Botchie" Wade of Florida and his daughter, Rya Wade; her aunt, Sandy (Garry) Moneypenny of Mogadore, and her aunt, Donna Cirullo of Akron and her daughter, Gina Cirullo. Joining the sorrow will be her life-long friend and cousin, Briana Tompkins; and also sharing the sorrow will be Layten's father, Shawn Adkins, and his children, Haley and Riley Adkins. Shanna's family wants to recognize her special friend, Chris Haramis, for all of his help.
Shanna was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilbur and Beverly "Peep" Wade.
"Shanna, you will always be in our thoughts and very missed, and we promise to keep your son on our to do list.
While you watch from up above, we will make sure he is protected and loved.
We will keep you fresh in his mind and speak of your deeds, surrounded by family he will have no needs.
So you can rest in peace as you enter the here-after, we will take care of Layten, teaching him, love, faith and laughter."
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where family and friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Layten Adkins Fund at any US Bank branch, in Shanna's memory.
