James O. Perrine

James Perrine, 70, passed away August 27, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. James was born August 20, 1947 in Akron, OH to Bernadette and Robert Perrine. Jim grew up in Tallmadge where he earned his Eagle Scout award. He graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1965 then attended Kent State University until he joined the Navy. Jim served in the nuclear sub service during the Vietnam War. He returned to Ohio and retired from Morgan Chase Mortgage Bank.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Perrine, Jr. He leaves behind his sister, Sandra Baer of Tallmadge; his brothers, Richard, "Budd". Perrine (Mary) of Munroe Falls, and Bernard Perrine of Addison, TX; nephews, John Baer (Katie), Chris Baer, and Leon Dean; nieces, Christianna Perrine and Tina Ferguson (Tammy) and their families.

Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening, meeting new people, and learning new things. He recently returned to college at Akron University, receiving an associate degree in 2016. He continued to take classes towards a bachelor degree. He was a member and consistory president of East Market St. United Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 1 at 11am at Trinity UCC 915 N. Main St. Akron, OH 44310 with Pastor David Brown officiating.

Family will receive friends at 10am. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Boy Scouts of America, Great Trail Council, 1601 S. Main St Akron or a charity of your choice.
