Rodney Dale Neal, Sr., "Rod", age 62, of Ravenna, Ohio, formerly of Freeport, Florida, died on January 12, 2018 at Kent Health Care Center.
He was born on June 17, 1955 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, the son of the late Frederick Dale and Lois Rae (nee Wright) Neal.
Rod was a 1973 graduate of Springfield High School and he also attended Akron University. He was an upholsterer for more than 30 years, his last job was for the US AirForce, for the C-130 Aircrafts. He loved his dogs, went to movies, built guitars, and rode his motorcycles. He never knew a stranger, he helped everyone he came in contact with.
Survivors include his son, Rodney Dale (Cassandra) Neal, Jr. of Freeport, FL; his sister, Becky Neal of Ravenna, and his brother, Brian (Dawn) Neal of Ravenna; several nieces and nephews, as well as, one great-niece and three great-nephews also survives.
Other than his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carmen Belinda Jeffries on December 1, 2016, they were united in marriage on June 12, 1982; one nephew, Nathaniel Lee Neal; and one great-nephew, Jethro Joseph Hunter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to his son, Rodney Dale Neal, Jr., 3366 J. W. Hollington Road, Freeport, FL 32439, to help defray funeral costs.
Memorial services will be held at First Freedom Baptist Church, 2171 Tallmadge Road, Kent, Ohio 44240, on, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
