Mary Jane Young, age 93, of Atwater, Ohio, formerly of Sandusky, Ohio, died on January 31, 2018 at 8:00 AM at her home.
She was born in Sandusky on August 12, 1924, the daughter of the late Laverne L. and Lucille (nee Ruff) Gordon.
Mary Jane was a florist and loved flower arranging. She did many weddings and personal flower arrangements for many people in the Sandusky area. Mary Jane loved going out dancing with her late husband, Ralph, and had many friends, including her best friends, George and Maryanne Fischer.
Other survivors include her grandchildren, Tami (Pete) Ferrante, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael (Tesse) Blemenschutz; her great-grandchildren, Michael (Rachael) Schweyer, Sean Bond, Nicole Bond, Krissy (John) Christianson, Cory Pfeiffer, Ryan Blemenschutz, and Cherlyn Blemenschutz; her great-great-grandchildren, Gavin, Kayla, Aubrey, Mya, Michael, and Colton.
Other than her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Young; and her daughter, Charlene Heim.
Memorial services will take place at a later date in Sandusky, Ohio, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.
