Ronald G. McEntire, 75, of Akron, passed unexpectedly on March 14, 2018. Ron was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He later relocated to Akron, OH where he met his wife, Shirley (nee Buckalew). Ron worked at the Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg, OH for many years before retiring from there. Ron was a family man who loved to laugh and spend time with his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed horse racing, playing cards, and bowling on a league in the Akron area. Anyone who knew Ron knew of his love for game shows and old TV shows, and his love of chocolate.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, James McEntire and Geraldine (Hugh) Brooks.
Ron will be deeply missed by his wife of 42 years, Shirley McEntire; daughters, Angie (Steve) Sabo, Cissy (Bill) Dombrowski, and Ronda (Mark) Schromm, and a father figure to Jenna (Glen) Gaither; grandchildren, Kellie (Bryan), Stephen, Max, Alex, Billy, Joe, Clint, Mitch (Becca), Ethan, and Trevor; pappy to, Andy, Zach, and Sadie; brother, Larry (Sandy) McEntire; sister, Jonnie (Ron) Schaffer; special family near to his heart, Jeanne, Trish and Tyler; and many nieces, nephews, and family.
Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron on Sunday March 18, 2018 to visit from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held for close family and friends on Monday at the funeral home at 1pm.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
