John "Jack" McKean, 74, surprised us all by taking his flight to Heaven sooner than we hoped on September 30, 2018. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University in 1969. Jack retired from Wooster Brush Company after 23 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Dorothy McKean; brother, Leo H. McKean; nephew, Richard "Ziggy" Slivinski; and wife's parents, Orville and Elsie Beavon. Jack leaves to survive (and spend his money at the casino) his loving wife of 51 years, Marsha; children, Jason (Kelley) and Ryan; grandchildren, Ronald and Meghan; siblings, Barbara (Frank) Slivinski and Carol McKean SCN; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dave) Maguire and Susan (John) Criswell; special uncle, Jack Logue; special friends, Terry and Pat Allen, Michaella Cronin SCN; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation from 1:30-3:00pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 132 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Memorial service at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Doylestown Food Pantry or a charity of your choice.
