It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing our loving husband, father, and grandfather, John Joseph Hasso, Jr., age 78, of Randolph Twp., Ohio, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
John married his wife on January 28, 1961, the former Linda K. Clark. They had 57 wonderful years of marriage. John had a love for Linda like no other, and still had a sparkle in his eye when he looked at her. He told her to pick out a house she liked and he would build it. It was their dream house, a house always filled with love and kindness. You always felt welcomed in the Hasso house!
"Crandpa" made everyone feel welcome making sure there was always snacks and pop for anyone that would come over. He made sure his grand-babies always had fresh popcorn and iced tea made for when they came over. He was "Mr. Fixit" and could fix or try to fix anything with electrical tape, duck tape, or gorilla glue. He will always be remembered for his kind gestures, loving heart, and ornery ways. A Marcs trip won't be the same without him pretending to write a ticket to someone.
Grandpa was truly a family man and was extremely proud of his family. He was always there for guidance, support, and taught us many lessons about life. We were very fortunate to have had him in our lives and he will be greatly missed. There are endless memories that we will always have in our hearts; a treasured memory and gift that he gave to the grandchildren were jewelry boxes that he handmade for them. "John Boy", "Peeps", "Chips", "Bud", "Dad", "Grandpa", and "Crandpa", we know you will continue to watch over us as you always had. We Love You!
John enjoyed sports, gardening, canning, and cutting wood. He loved the outdoors. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Leaving behind to mourn his loss is his loving wife, Linda; his two daughters, June (Rick) Murdock and Debra Hasso; his grandchildren, Angela (Javier) Suarez, Ricky (Kara) Murdock, Brittany Murdock, Kim (Brian) Mervine, Kristine (Brendan) Milburn, and Magy (Dylan) Bennett; his great-grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Austin, Jaxon, Conner, Kyle, Aubrey, and Brysen. His two sisters also survive, Helen Zimmerman and Dorothy (Phil) Suman.
Private memorial services were held and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Randolph Fire Department, 1639 State Route 44, Atwater, Ohio 44201.
