Jerry D. Hicks

Jerry Hicks, 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep and woke up in heaven on October 29, 2018. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Zell & Helen Hicks. After graduating from Garfield H.S. and the University of Akron, he graduated from an apprenticeship program with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. where he worked and retired as a pipefitter.

Jerry was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and was so proud of all of them. In his spare time, he loved to golf with his buddies, read, spend time in his yard, or just be with June. He loved traveling with his family and enjoyed many wonderful vacations at the beach. He would ride the waves just like a kid. Jerry was a regular attender at the Chapel in Green.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, June; his children Jerry (Susan) Hicks and Terri (Michael) Castelli; his grandchildren Amy Hicks, Alison (Wayne) Evans, Melissa (Kiyo) Ichikawa, Elise (Erik) Spinelli, Joseph Castelli (fiancée Megan); great-grandchildren Kairi, Jacob & Jordan and his sister Norma Gajdos, along with other family and friends.
