Mary A. Snyder, 82, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2018. She was born in Gandeeville, West Virginia on June 27, 1936 to Ada Ellen Jones. Mary owned Ellet Massotherapy Clinic for 25 years, where she was a massage therapist. She was a past President of the Business and Professional Women's Association in Akron. She was a faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church for many years.
Mary loved to entertain and have her family and friends over. She was a gracious hostess who took great pride in cultivating a perfect experience for her guests by making sure every detail was just right. She had a passion for decorating and was gifted in her creativity.
Mary loved to cook. She was famous for her peanut butter fudge, her hard tack candy, and her green beans. She was a very talented seamstress who would make her own decorative curtains. Mary had a green thumb and loved flowers, plants, and watching the birds in her yard. She had a close relationship with the Lord, and loved spending time reading her Bible and being involved with her church classes. She adored the Cleveland Indians, watching movies on the Hallmark Channel, doing word search puzzles, and visiting her daughter and family in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mary was an incredibly generous woman with a huge heart. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a tender, gentle spirit.
In addition to her mother, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Snyder; and her siblings, Bobbie Jones, Richard Jones, Dean Jones, William Jones, and Barbara Conley.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sherri (Gary) Palmer, Tamara (Kevin) Heddleston, and Lesa (Mike) Freshwater; grandchildren, Adam, Lisa, Stacey, Ryan, Kyle, Colton, Amy, Sarah, and Andrea; great-grandchildren, Palmer, Parker, Logan, Maya, Trey, Nick, Katie, James, and Annavelle; sister, Wilma Reynolds; brother, Ray Jones; best friend, Irene Hooper; and many, many other friends.
Visitation will take place at Maranatha Bible Church 1424 Killian Rd, Akron, OH 44312, on December 1, 2018 from 9:30am until 11:00am. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11am officiated by Pastor Don Rohrbacher. A luncheon to immediately follow at the church.
