John W. Williams Jr., 78, of Mogadore, passed away on December 29, 2018. He was born in Akron on December 4, 1940 to the late John and Marie Williams and attended Springfield High School.. John started working for his father at the age of 16 for McPherson &Williams Construction, brick laying. From there he worked for various companies before opening his own successful Masonry business. He was an honest person and never wanted to cheat anyone. After he had enough of masonry, John started The Muscle Gym with his family's help. He enjoyed body building and made most of his own equipment. He entered a senior power lifting contest in Texas, coming in 3rd place at the age of 42. He invented and patented a stakepuller for pulling concrete pins. After becoming ill, John's daughter and son-in-law took over the business. John loved golfing and making his own grills to roast pigs. John was baptized with the Holy Spirit and enjoyed going to Hillwood Chapel and reading the Bible. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sons, John III and William. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary; daughters, Tammy (Don) Mollohan, Deanna (Gary) Rogers, Trayce (John) Hanlon, and Jamie (Don) Mountain; son, James (Tina) King Jr.; sister, June (Larry) Welker; brother, Roy (Connie) Williams; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
