Carl E. Booth, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 at Mulberry Gardens in Munroe Falls.
He was born on December 23, 1923 in Wallins Creek, Kentucky to the late Ross and Nancy E. (nee Peace) Booth.
Carl served in the Army Air Force as a Radio Operator on a B-29 in the Pacific during World War II, during which time he attained the rank of Sergeant. After his service, he graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of Louisville, later working for 35 years as a chemist in industrial products for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, from which he retired in 1986.
Carl lead several youth organizations in Kentucky and Ohio, working for seven years as a leader for Y Indian Guides and 25 years as a leader for Boy Scouts. He also served as an advisor for Junior Achievement, Racko Company, who ranked number one in the nation and were invited to the White House in 1970.
Carl was an active member of the churches he attended throughout his life, including Arlington Memorial Baptist Church and Broadman Baptist Church. Over the years he served as deacon, financial secretary, song leader and Sunday school superintendent and teacher, and he was a choir member for 60 years.
Carl enjoyed golfing, bowling, singing, flying paper airplanes at the park with his family and making people laugh with his many jokes. Carl loved being married to his soul mate, Alice, and they were often referred to as "The Notebook couple."
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son David Booth and siblings Bonnie, Irene and Charles.
He is survived by his wife of almost 72 years, Alice (nee Turner) Booth; children Larry (Pam) Booth, Mike (Chris) Booth and Suzanna (Frank) Dubravetz; daughter-in-law Judy Booth; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Christine, Jack, Billy Ray, Raleigh, Lucille and Betty; and many family members and friends.

Funeral service will take place at 11:30 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Thursday, January 24, 2019 where Pastor Dave Bogue will celebrate Carl's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5 to 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carl's name may be sent to Arlington Memorial Baptist Church or Mulberry Gardens.
