Charles E. "Smiley" Hiner Sr.
August 6, 1940 — January 19, 2019
Charles E. "Smiley" Hiner Sr., 78, passed away surrounded by family on January 19, 2019. He was a longtime resident of Columbiana County. Charles was a proud Army veteran and retired from Miller Holzwarth Company in Salem, OH after 37 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Michele, and parents, Edmund and Sara. Charles is survived by his children, Chuck (Crystal) Hiner and Angie Thomas; grandchildren, Amanda, Josh, Toby, Hayden, Hans; great-grandson, Dominic; and siblings, Clyde, Ray, Pat, Jim. The family would like to thank special caregivers, Tanisha, Jamie, "Paula Dean," and Gretchen.
Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Sunday, January 27 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service at 3pm. Cremation to follow at a later date.
