Karen M. Leslie, 69, of Hartville, formerly of Akron, Ohio, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on January 19, 2019. Karen was born on December 12, 1949 in Akron, Ohio to the late Louis and Julia Buza. She graduated from Buckeye College with an associates degree to become a medical secretary. She worked at the Radisson Inn in Fairlawn, Ohio for over 15 years. Karen held her family and friends very close to her heart. She was a dedicated mother who was actively involved in the PTA, Brownies and Girl Scouts at Mason Elementary School. She had an magnetic personality with an infectious smile and was quick to make lifelong friends with anyone she met. She loved bingo, Elvis, and her dog, Sparky.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, B. Ward Leslie Jr.; brother, Tom Buza; and sister, JoAnne McGlone.
Left to cherish Karen's memory are her daughters, Lori Leslie, and Sheryl (Jeff) Hanlon; grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren; grandpup, Pita; niece, Kelli McKay; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family are welcome to visit on Friday January 25, 2019 from 6pm until 8pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral service will take place at Newcomer on Saturday at 12pm, with an hour of visitation prior. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
