Ronald G. Sandy

March 24, 1945 — January 20, 2019

Ronald G. Sandy, 73, of Akron went home to be with his wife on January 20, 2019. Ronald was born on March 24, 1945 in the mountains of West Virginia to the late William and Mary Sandy. He worked as a foreman at Holy Cross Cemetery for over 40 years. He was a hard worker and a great provider who always put his family first. He was an avid outdoorsman his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a notorious story teller, whether it was reliving childhood memories, or great hunting tales. He was very stubborn and set in his ways.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Barbara E. Sandy; and seven siblings.

Ronald is survived by his children, Kathy (Keith) Sandy, Melissa (Bob) Errington, and Matt (Amy) Sandy; grandchildren, Christina Sandy, Jessica (Matt) Moneypenny, Dustin (Ashley) Moneypenny, Bobby (Vanessa), Joe, and Steve Errington, Melonie (Corey) Cummins, and Marchae and Mya Phillips; great-granddaughters, Olivia Sandy, Topanga and Remi Cummins, Gabriella Errington, and Nina Phillips; two sisters; three brothers; and his trusty companions, Layla and Ziggy.
