Russell D. Myers, 80, of Akron, passed away on May 31, 2019. He was born on September 13, 1938 in Ireland, West Virginia to the late Elmer and Catherine Myers.
Russell had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and digging for ramps. Russell also loved spending time with his dog, Lilly.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Myers and Larry Myers; sister, Judy Riffle; and best friend, Harry Doolittle.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Joanne Myers; children, Russell Myers Jr., Brenda (Tim) Tengea, Roger (Jeanne) Myers, Barbara (Scott) Marting, and Patricia Gilbert; brother, Jim (Liz) Myers; brothers-in-law, Ralph Riffle and Paul Riffle; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends.
Friends and family are welcome to visit on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 11am until 1pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral service will take place at 1pm.
