Cecil E. Hudson

Cecil Eugene Hudson, 81, of Akron, passed away on August 8, 2019, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born on February 14, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to Robert Hudson Sr. and Ira Joe Carter Hudson. A graduate of East High School, Cecil served in the Ohio National Guard and the US Navy. He retired from B.F. Goodrich.

An avid jazz lover and record collector, Cecil amassed one of the best collections in Northeast Ohio. He was also a great handyman.

Preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert Hudson Jr. He is survived by daughters, Melanie (Harry) Scott, Cecilia Hudson, and Marcie Ford; siblings, Thelma "Maxine" Jordan, Donald (Judith) Hudson, and Kenneth (Linda) Hudson; grandchildren, Vernon Scott, Alisha Nair, Robert Hudson, Denzel Ford, and Mya Ford; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and devoted ex-wife, Sylvia Hudson.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday August 15, 2019 at 1:30pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Procession will form at 12pm at 184 Reid Terrace Apt. 309, Akron, Ohio 44310. Condolences may be sent to same.
