Samuel R. "Bob" Greenaway Jr., 65, of Akron, OH passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. He was born to parents Samuel Robert Greenaway, Sr. and Theresa Marie (nee Whitcore) on July 16, 1954 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and his brother John.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Judy of 41 years; children Jennifer (Mike) Major, Lisa (Damon) Watkins, and Michael (Jim) Greenaway; grandchildren, Anthony, Savannah, Jacob, Olivia, Tevin, Cameron, Ashton, Nyla, Maliyah, and Aubri; siblings, Sharon (Tom) Hoffman, Sandy (Tom) Barefoot and Sue (Scott) O'Brien; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob loved to fish and was a very dedicated veteran, proudly serving in the Army. He was a handyman, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family wishes to send a big thank you to the Summa hospice nurses and the nurses at Summa Barberton Hospital.
Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, January 6, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron from 5pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held the following morning on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home.
