Jay Reed Koger, 79, of Akron, passed away May 24, 2007. He was born May 19, 1928 in Albany, Kentucky but spent most of his life in Akron, Ohio where he worked in the Rim Plant at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for over 20 years. He enjoyed his friends and loved his family, especially his two grandchildren, Nancy and Jonathan. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas C. & Isabelle (Buck) Koger; his wife, Jane Koger; brothers, Bliss and Harlan Koger; sisters, Letha Combs, Nancy Hayes and Clara Ferguson. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlene & Dave Stone of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Nancy and Jonathan; sister, Mildred Beaty of Akron; brothers, T.C. Koger of Rittman and Jim Koger of Akron. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd.
