Randy Lee Bender

Randy Lee Bender, age 58 of Akron, Ohio, passed away the first week of November 2021.

He was born on February 18, 1963 in Akron, Ohio.

Randy was a true and loyal friend to all who knew him, he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carmelita "Carmie" Bender, and his father, Jerry Bender, his step-mother, Bonnie Bender and his older brother, Timothy "Tim" Bender. Others that have preceded him in death are his uncles and aunts, Lou (Wilda) Mueller, Bill (Janet) Bender and Ronald Bender.

Randy is survived by his brother, John (Judy) Bender; his three nieces, whom he loved dearly, Christa (Caleb) Tomplait, Tiffany Bender and Kayla Bender. His uncle and aunts, Jim (Loretta) Bender and Millie Bender; and many cousins and friends that mourn his loss. Also surviving is Stephanie Anne Hale, his loving and loyal companion of 11 years.

Randy was raised in Akron and attended Tallmadge High School and graduated in 1981.

His proudest accomplishment was enlisting in the US Marines after graduation. He served in the USMC-US Marine Corps from 1982-1986, which included involvement in the multinational peace keeping force, Beirut, Lebanon, his squadron was HMM-162 and was part of the Beirut peacekeeping force and then he served in the USMC-US Marine Corp Reserves from 1986-1988.

Randy was a man of many talents, he worked in landscaping, molded rubber, groomed snow for skiing and was a small engine mechanic-he could fix anything.

Memorial services will take place at 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
