Susan Elayne Kissel

Susan E. {Uphole} Kissel, age 70 of Rootstown, Ohio, formerly of Akron, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 with her daughters by her side.

She was born October 28, 1951 in Akron, Ohio and was a graduate of Ellet High School class of 1969. Sue worked at Roadway Express before retiring from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.

Sue was a fun, loving person who enjoyed motorcycle riding, New Year's Eve parties, Railcart riding, and going to Florida in the winter and Parasailing. She had a venturesome personality- she would try anything! What Sue loved most was her family, her two girls Jill and Elayne, her brother Dan, and his family. Spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Sue's memory are her daughters, Jill Davis and Elayne (Joe) Prete; her brother Dan (Sharon) Upton; grandchildren Alisha,Brandon, Tyler, Evelyn, Holly, Ava, Joey and Joshua; great-grandchildren Je'Vaire, Aviana, Malakhi, Sa'Myah and Sin'Trell; many nieces, nephews and in-laws, and her loving family dog, Miles.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Joseph D. Kissel, February 14, 2019, her parents Granville and Pearl {Barger} Uphole, son-in-law LaRon Davis and her little dog Bentley.

A special thank you to her sister-in-law Joni Barry for all her continued love, care, support and guidance over the last years.

Thanks to the staff at HMC Hospice of Medina County for their care and kindness. Thank you to Sue's hospice nurses Jodie, Waukima and Rachel, and a special thank you to Kelsey for all her help and babysitting.
