Kenneth Len Coplin, "Ken", age 65, passed away on March 15, 2022 in Akron with family by his side; he was a proud resident of Firestone Park.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on January 27, 1957, the son of the late Lloyd and Barbara (nee Martin) Coplin. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1975 and continued his schooling at the University of Akron. He worked for the United States Postal Service for over 35 years before retiring last spring.
Ken loved to golf, read, golf, and collect items such as GOLF balls, stamps, GOLF ball markers, coins and GOLF tees. Did we mention he liked GOLF? He also enjoyed history and would frequently share his knowledge of different subjects. He liked music and movie trivia. He was a supporter of Cleveland sports teams and OSU football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jethro Joseph Hunter.
Ken leaves behind his children, Eric Coplin and Erin (Joseph) Hunter; and his grandchildren, Alienore, Jedidiah, and Austin Hunter. He is also survived by his sister, Teresa (Denny) Beardmore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 where Pastor Dorsey Davisson will celebrate Ken's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Interment will be at Standing Rock Cemetery, Kent, Ohio.
