Steven Theodore Mitan, age 72, died peacefully at home in Akron, OH with his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley. Steve was born on October 21, 1949, in Tallmadge, OH to Theodore and Margaret Mitan. He graduated from Tallmadge High School and went on to work at Norton Company, WaltcoLift Corp. and Ravenna City Schools. Since retiring in 2014, Steve spent everyday of the last 8 years with his loving wife Shirley and dog Jake.
Survived by his wife, Shirley, who lovingly cared for him until the very end. Daughters, self-proclaimed favorite, Amy Mitan, Betsy (Joe) Allshouse, Teresa (Eric) Boggs and Kim Sdono. Grandchildren Joe Sdono (Dom), Hailey Allshouse, Quinn Boggs and Hunter Allshouse.
While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his beloved father, Ted. Per Steve's wishes cremation and private family service has taken place.
