Douglas C. Norman Sr.

Douglas C. Norman Sr., "Doug" and "Norm", age 75 of Massillon, Ohio, died on January 7, 2023.
He was born on June 28, 1947 in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Winnie and Delsie (nee Salisbury) Norman.
Other than his parents, Doug was preceded in death by siblings, Theodore Norman, James Norman, Edith Kyle and Gregory Norman; and his former wife, Kathleen (nee Pratt) Norman.
Those that are left to mourn his loss are his children, Adam (Darla) Norman, Allen (Lori) Norman, Douglas C. (Maureen "Moe") Norman Jr, Angela Norman, Melissa Conley and Jason (Sabrina) Norman; his step-children, Gene "Norman" Crissman, Leigh (Lorne) "Norman" Foulkes and Robert "Bobby" Crissman; his 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two on the way; his six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and his former wife, Mary (nee Szablowsky) Baker.
His siblings also survive, Robert (Dawn) Norman, Barbara (Neil) Turner and Nancy Sidwell, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Doug was an honorably discharged US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany.
Mr. Norman was a lifelong employee of Goodyear Aerospace/Megitt as maintenance mechanic, retiring after 50 years of service. In his spare time Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the cabin "P&O" in Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305.
Family and friends may visit from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors in Doug's memory.
