Betty L. Bennett

Betty L. Bennett, 94, of Akron, passed away on January 30, 2023. She was born on January 13, 1929 to Mabel and Earl Dingey.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Calvin A. Bennett Sr. whom she married on October 11, 1948. They were together for 67 years.

Betty was also preceded by her mother and father; her daughters-in-law, Sharen Bennett and Marge Bennett.

She is survived by her 4 sons, Calvin, Robert (Jackie), Richard, and Larry (Linda); 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty worked for O'Neils for 30 years selling hand bags, she ended up acquiring many hand bags for herself and her family. There she also earned the nickname "Betty Bags". Over the years, she loved to cook and throw parties. Betty and Calvin traveled many times around the country and loved to take their grandkids with them. Most of all Betty loved her family and was loved by them!

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, February 10, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron OH 44305, with the service to follow at 5:00 P.M. A private interment will take place Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband.
