Larry D. Moore

Larry Darnell Moore, affectionately known as "Cox," passed suddenly and gained his wings on February 14th, 2023. His great spirit and love he had for his family will truly be missed. He was born in Akron, OH on August 2nd, 1958.

Larry is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Mary Brown; father, Willie Oscar Griggs; his loving mother, Idella Davis; his dearest sister, Linda V. Williams; and his brothers, John W. Moore and Kenny L. Moore.

Larry is survived by his two sons whom he loved very much, Isreal and Isaiah Moore of Akron, Ohio; eleven siblings, Mary Risper of Forney, TX, Robert (Barbara) Moore of Texarkana, TX, Helen Spragling, Elton, Michael of Akron, OH, Debbie Williams of Stone Mountain, GA, Sherry Moore, Veronica Moore, Varetta Dillehay, James Davis, and Maurice Davis, all of Akron, OH; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry will also be missed by a host of childhood friends, Owens, Jones, Andersons, Oliver's, and Phillip Miller.

Larry attended Akron Public Schools, was employed by Career Strategies, McDonald's, TacoBell, and PMI. His hobbies were playing cards, listening to all types of music, attending concerts, and being in the company of his loved ones. His favorite football team is the Philadelphia Eagles and basketball team is the Chicago Bulls (Michael Jordan).

It's never farewell, our brother Larry, it's see you later. We love you and always will.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd, Akron) where Homegoing Services will be held at 12:00pm.
