Joyce Ann Hickman

Joyce Ann Hickman (nee Cavanaugh), age 76, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023. She was born to the late Marguerite (McMullen) and Ronald Cavanaugh.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Buterbaugh; brother-in-law, Ronald Buterbaugh; brother, Kenneth Cavanaugh; sister-in-law, Lisa Cavanaugh.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Jeffrey Hickman and Butch Hickman; grandson, Christopher Hickman (Astera); brother, David (Cathe) Cavanaugh; sister, Mary Beth (George) Seeley.
She was a life long resident of Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1965. Joyce was a member and Alumni of St. Sebastian's Church. She was employed by Walgreens for many years.
She was very devoted to her faith and dedicated her whole life to her sons, whom she loved dearly.
Joyce's life had so much meaning and she will be remembered by all that knew her.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Jessica Bennett and Sarah Friend of North East Ohio Hospice for their compassionate care of Joyce.
She has been entrusted into the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44131.
In respect of Joyce's wishes cremation has taken place.
