Lanetta Jean Woods, 67, of Barberton, passed away on May 12, 2023. A lifelong resident of the Akron area, she was born on May 22, 1955 to the late Charles and Beatrice {McCall} Jones.
Lanetta is survived by her loving daughters, Leah Woods and LaMicka Thomas; grandkids Montanize (Dominique) Woods, Ray Shamburger Jr., Martell Hill; great-grandkids Merziaha Woods, Meela Woods, Marleeana Woods, Montanize "Simba" Woods Jr. and London Hill; brothers Charles Jones Jr., Ted Jones and Derek Jones; sisters Tonya Grant and Cassandra Thomas; bonus grandsons Elvin Butler and Andrew Stouffer; special cousins Gena (James) Radabaugh and Celeste McCall; a host of extended family members and friends.
Lanetta was a woman of strong faith, evidenced by the well-worn pages of her Bible, which she always kept close. She was talented and creative, and could often be found sewing and crocheting. Lanetta was fierce in spirit, and even stronger in love, especially when it came to her family and their friends. Everyone was welcome in her home, and she was a Mom to many.
