Milton Lee Snyder

September 16, 1931 — May 29, 2023

Milton "Milt" Snyder, 91, of Akron, was born on September 16, 1931. He passed away on May 29, 2023. A native to the Akron area, Milton graduated from Springfield High School, where he met the love of his life, Dorothy (Burge) Snyder. Following a stint in the Marines, he and Dot married and had 3 children. Milton worked for Pepsi Cola and Lawson's. Upon retirement he worked at Higy Hardware. He enjoyed SHS marching band, football and basketball games and attended all the drama events we were involved in. He and mom were active at Springfield Baptist Church as greeters and in the senior group. He will be remembered for his pride of the Marines, bad "dad" jokes and a firm handshake with a piece of candy in it. He and mom taught us about hard work, responsibility, American pride and joy.

He is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Rodney) Chapman and Sue Snyder (Jim Gremba); son, Steven Snyder; grandchildren, Erik Chapman, Elizabeth (Michael) Herston, Drew (Hannah) Snyder and Will (Cassidy) Snyder; great-grandson, Jasper Herston; brothers Ronald (Valory) Snyder, Gerald (Betty) Snyder; and brother-in-law, Thomas (Polly) Burge.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy "Dot" Snyder; his parents, Orval and MaryBelle Snyder; and sister, Millie Weaver.

Friends and family are invited to visit from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Springfield Baptist Church, 1920 Krumroy Rd. in Springfield Township. Funeral service will begin at 4:00 P.M. Per his wishes, cremation will follow at a later date.
