Donna Jean Mars, age 86, of New Franklin, Ohio, died on June 12, 2023 surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born on June 8, 1937 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Hattie Lucille (nee Thorn) Griffin.
Donna loved her Lord, her husband and her family. She found great joy in sharing the Gospel and praying for others. Donna was an avid gardener.
Survivors include the love of her life, William Mars, whom she married on October 13, 1956; her children, Trina Longshore, Connie (Gordon) Costlow, Jeff (Connie) Mars and Sarah (Steve) Hall; her grandchildren, Michael (Lindsay) Costlow, Tiffany (Mike) Collette, Jonathan Longshore, Marie Longshore, Steven (Anna) Hall, Adam (Atalie) Hall, Kendra (Zack) Kaufman, Blake (Heather) Mars and Trent (Taylor) Mars; and her great-grandchildren, Naomi, Desmond, Wyatt, Everly, McKenna, Titus, Adelyn, Nolan, Aliyah and two on the way.
Also surviving is her sister-in-law and dear friend, Sydney Griffin.
Other than her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David Longshore; her siblings, Donald and Lois Griffin and Guy Griffin; and her husband's sister, Joann and James Brooks.
Funeral services will be at the church she loved, First Baptist Church of Jackson, 8925 Strausser Street NW, Massillon, Ohio 44646 on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 12:00 PM, where Pastors Thomas Gang and Rory Wineka will celebrate Donna's life.
Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
