Carol Grace Truman

Carol Grace Truman, 91, of Norton, passed away peacefully at home on July 31, 2023. She was born in Harrison, West Virginia on May 12, 1932 to the late Sewell and Nona Ramsey.
Carol devoted her life to raising her family and caring for her home. She enjoyed tending her garden and canning fruits and vegetables. She was a talented quilter. Each of her grandchildren own a quilt made especially for them by their Grandma. Carol also enjoyed reading and cheering for the Indians/Guardians.
Carol was a woman of faith and a longtime former member of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Ronald Ramsey, Dallas Ramsey, Donald Ramsey, Lucille Frame, and Greta Triplett. She is also now reunited with her beloved husband of 69 years, Denver Truman. They married on August 10, 1949 and were together until his death in October of 2018.
Carol will be dearly missed by her children, Richard (Nancy) Truman, Rocky (Iris) Truman Sr., Nanette Babak, Meriam Lamb (John Barnhart), and Zachary Bergdorf; sisters, Ruth Yarger and Rose Harker; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. with visitation from 4:00 until time of service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Carol will be privately laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
