Edward D. Glaze

Edward D. Glaze, 72, of Atwater, passed away September 7, 2008 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1936 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Bert & Mabel (Grudier) Glaze. Edward worked as a brick layer and in his free time enjoyed fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and fishing partner. His favorite quote was "the worst day of fishing is better than a good day anywhere else." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Ted and Bob Glaze; and sister, Doris Fluharty. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Loretta G. Glaze; daughter, Linda (Twig) Branch; sons, Edward (Melissa), Richard (Barb), Thomas and Charles (Norma) Glaze; grandchildren, David (Sara), Amy (Mike), Michael, Jody, Cyndi, Anthony and Wayne; great-grandchildren, Rachel and Ashley; brothers, George (Jeanette) and Richard (Belinda) Glaze; sisters, Evelyn Frasier, Loretta Hendrock, Virginia Smith (Ray), Becky Courtney (Clarence) , Sandy Kisselburg (Ed), Judy Gehman (Tom) and Faye Jakubowski (Paul). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David V. Hohlbaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
