Connie J. Murphy

Connie J. Murphy, 68, passed away on May 9, 2010. She was born in Akron, OH on October 20, 1941 to the late Glen and Amelia Bousher. Connie was a 1960 graduate of East High School. She was a member of Visitation of Mary Catholic Church and served on the board at St. Thomas Hospital for 20 years. Connie was a 20 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed taking cruises. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Margaret Sorrells. Survivors include her beloved husband, Richard, of 49 years; daughters, Deborah (Calvin) Bevard, of Ownings, MD, and Beth Ann (Mike) Fortine, of Lake Katrine, NY; grandchildren, CPL. Michael Knipl, USMC, of Camp Lejeune, NC, Anthony Knipl, Alan Fortine, and Colleen Fortine. Calling hours will be Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral Mass Monday, 10 a.m. at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church, 87 Broad St., Akron (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment at East Akron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 North Main Street
