Donna L. Ecker

Donna L. Ecker, 90, went home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2010. She was born in Newark, OH on August 21, 1919, to the late Donald and Grace Helmkee. Donna was a member of Lifespring Christian Church as well as the Eastern Star Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also involved with the Mobile Meals Program. Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed walking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmanuel, IV; and brother, Don Helmkee. Survivors include her sons, Emanuel, V (Jane) and Geoffrey; sisters, Marjory (James) Lowry, Jane Flower, Joann (Mike) Shank, and Joyce Bender; grandchildren, Emanuel, VI, Emily, Kevin; step-grandchildren, Julie and Cindy; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
