MOGADORE—Roscoe “Roy” Conley, 77, went home to be with the Lord at 1 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011. He was born in Uler, WV, on June 22, 1934 to the late Edward and Bessie Conley. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 1996. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Kenmore in Akron, where he was a deacon and worked with the Young at Heart Group. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Grosenbaugh) Conley; a daughter, Beverly (Phill) Sladek; and a son, Randall (Brenda) Conley, both of Mogadore; 7 grandkids, Dan (Melissa), Dave (Jill), Tim (Tricia) Conley, Becky (Mike) Williams, and Heather, Tori and Kalina Sladek; and 4 great-grandkids, Michael, Ryan, Kaitlyn, and Hannah Conley, with 1 more on the way; and brother, Charles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Conley was preceded in death by 1 sister, Geneva Miller; and 10 brothers, Spencer, Howard, Harold, Eugene, Jennings, Lawrence, Brooks, Darius, Clyde, and William Conley. His family will miss him dearly, but we are so happy that he is no longer suffering, but running down the streets of gold, and we know he will be waiting for us in Heaven. Calling hours will be Sunday, 2-5 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Kenmore, 2330 East Ave., Akron. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Kenmore.
