John Butler

John H. Butler 85 of Akron OH passed away peacefully on July 28, 2014. John was a WWII Veteran; he was also a big Indians fan, and he loved his life and his family. John is preceded in death by his parents Henry & Angela, and 6 siblings. He is survived by his children, Deborah (John) Selmon, John (Judy) Butler, Brenda (Bruce) Slagel, and Kevin Allen Butler; two sisters, Hazel Pack and Beulah Barker; the love of his life Charlotte (nee Johnson); 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. John was a man whose smile lit up a room whenever the kids were around. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be Monday August 4th from 10:30 to 12:30 followed by a 12:30 pm service with Rev Owen Jones officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at Akron Children's Hospital.
