Jerry Keith Cockerham
Jerry Keith Cockerham, 83, of Akron, passed away February 11, 2015. He was born in Friars Hill, West Virginia on November 24, 1931 to the late Alonzo and Dorothy Cockerham. Jerry proudly served as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. He retired from Akron Packing Company and later worked for Barberton Auto Wrecking. He devoted his life to his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Cockerham; sister, Jackie; and brother, Larry. He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Cockerham; children, Gary (Jody) Cockerham, Steve (Carmen) Cockerham, Lori Cockerham, Pamela (Jerry) Eschandi, Jeff (Kim) Cockerham, and Robert Cockerham; stepdaughter, Sharon (Tom) Rutledge; brother, Terry (Lily) Cockerham; grandchildren, Keith (Lisa) Cockerham, Angela (John) Cobb, Maria (Christopher) Machamer, Christie McEntire, Steven (Lisa) Cockerham, Leslie (Tony) Chirchirillo, Ronnie Fuller, Matthew Fuller, Jerry (Karla) Cockerham, Amy (Mike) Laktash, Brittany Cockerham, Jeffrey E. Cockerham, Benjamin Cockerham, Nicholas Cockerham, Allie Cockerham, and Ty Cockerham; great-grandchildren, Liam and Ethan Cockerham, Grace and Faith Cobb, Steven and Trent Cockerham, Sophia and Dominic Chirchirillo, Jacob and Lucas Cockerham.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Nutt officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park with Firestone VFW 3383.
