Adrienne L. Coleman

February 7, 1956 — April 11, 2021

Adrienne L. Coleman was called from labor to reward on April 11, 2021. She was born February 7, 1956 to William and Sulura Boykin.

Adrienne was a true servant of the Lord, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a strong, steadfast and resilient lady who molded her physical limitations into stepping stones of life for all to see. Her life was a true message of encouragement of God's almighty hand of grace and mercy. Adrienne 's smile and words of encouragement were just a few of the qualities that those who crossed her path mentioned…. a beautiful memory they will always remember.

Adrienne was a member of Spelman Chapel AME Church, Kent OH. She was a trustee and a volunteer cook/server for loaves and fishes for the homeless. She was employed at H &W Industries, worked as a private duty in-home health care aide and a caregiver at Stow Glen Nursing Home where she retired in 2019.

Adrienne used her gift and love for cooking in catering for private community family gatherings and for The Free Agent Recovery Program events on a regular basis. When it came to cooking there was no limitations to her abilities; her love showed up in every morsel we ate. As her family we will especially miss her desserts. There is no chocolate pound cake; banana pudding or cheese cake like Aunt Adrienne's. She always lit up with joy, when we made a special request for her desserts.

Adrienne was preceded in death by parents: William Boykin & Sulura Boykin-Mabry; Grandparents: Claude & Jessie Boykin; Harbon & Lydia Merrett; Sister: Pamela Milton; Daughter: Angela Yvonne Taylor; Grandson Dieondre Taylor: Mother-in-law Dorothy Smith; Sister In-law Edna Stevens.

Adrienne leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 23 1/2 years Michael; Sons Dedrick of Lexington, KY; Derrick of Akron, OH.; Moma Emma of Kent, OH; Brothers Wendell (Zara) Boykin of Mariacopa, AZ; William T. & Brian Boykin of Kent, OH; Sisters: Barbara Jean, Fla., Fanette Merrett & Sheilah Boykin of Kent, OH; Grandchildren Ambrea, Anija & Jakob; Great-grandchildren: Jayla Kaylynn & Alena Marie; Special Daughter: Susan Harris and a host of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends who always held a very special place in her heart.
