Alan L. DeMali, 67, of Akron, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side when God called him home.
Alan was born in Akron on January 11, 1954. He worked as an auto mechanic for UHaul, retiring after 42 years of service. Alan loved reading and watching programs about cars and airplanes. He enjoyed annual family trips to Cedar Point where he rode the coasters with his daughter and son-in-law each day and watched the sunset over Lake Erie at Cabin 17 with his wife each night. Alan will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. He loved telling jokes and often retold his favorites.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Mary DeMali; father-in-law, Joseph Peticca; mother-in-law, Ida Peticca; and brother-in-law, David Francis.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Pam; beloved daughter and son-in-law, Jenna and Brian Griffin; beloved sister, Diane Francis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Laura Peticca and their children; and his faithful companion, Snoopy.
Per Alan's wishes, no formal services will be held. His family will celebrate his life privately.
