Alan Laird Shreckengost

Alan Laird Shreckengost, age 73 of Springfield Twp., Ohio, died on June 26, 2017 in Akron.
He was born on February 13, 1944, the son of Ruby May Allen Shreckengost, with whom he lived, and the late Laird Shreckengost.
Alan was a 1962 Springfield High School graduate and attended KSU and then entered the US Marine Corps. in January 1963, during the Vietnam War. Alan was a weatherman in the US Marine Corps for 19 years, retiring in 1982.
He liked golfing, hunting, and camping.
In addition to his mother, other survivors include his children, Michael Shreckengost and Erika (Thomas) Goodman; his step-children, David (Sandra) Bauman, Marlisa (Ricky) Ellis, and Bryan Bauman; 14 grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Nedra (Dennis "Denny") Blakeman; his former wife and friend, Rhonda (John Pfotzer) Bauman.
Per Alan's request there will not be any services or visitation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
