Alan Robert Tressel

February 18, 1943 — August 15, 2023

Alan Robert Tressel, "Bob", went home to be with the Lord on August 15, 2023.

He was born on February 18, 1943 to Harry Jacob Tressel and Beulah Elinor Miller of Akron, Ohio.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Rae, they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary together on the day of his passing. He was survived by his brother, Harry Tressel (Monnie), and his sister, Marilyn Henry (Bob).

Bob had three daughters, Jennifer Lynn Hugg (Jack), Rebecca Sue Stubbs, and Pamela Marie Daulbaugh (Andrew); his grandchildren, Robert Stubbs (Lacey), Ashlee Johnson (Branden), Mitch Stubbs, Jeremy Hugg, Jamie Hugg, Hannah Daulbaugh, Jacob Daulbaugh; and three great-grandchildren, Paxton, Jozie, and Waylon. His family was his pride and joy especially his golden retriever, Sugar.

Bob's love for fishing took him to Rice Lake, Ontario, Canada for over 40 years. He loved teaching fishing skills, water skiing, tubing and of course, cleaning fish to enjoy a family feast with later.

He was an avid bowler, bowling in different leagues starting way back with his father, brother, and sister. He was quite the athlete on the baseball field as well. He was a marble champ back in his youth. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1961. He was very involved with Arlington Memorial Baptist Church from teaching Sunday school, driving the church bus, a deacon role as well as a trustee.

Bob prioritized sharing his love for the Lord, whether people were receptive or not, didn't dissuade him from sharing his passion for Christ.
He was the original game master entertaining all of us with his basket hunts, white circle stickers, key in the tree, treasure hunts - the fun was never ending.
Bob worked as a tire builder at BFGoodrich, a house mover with his dad's business, and quality control supervisor with Heritage Industrial Finishing.

In 2004 Bob was only the 2nd kidney transplant performed in Akron. His daughter, Jennifer, unselfishly donated her kidney which lasted 19 years! The extra years gained were never taken for granted. He was a tremendous blessing to his entire family and to all who knew him. He will be missed greatly!

Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305, on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM, where Pastor Donald Davies will celebrate Bob's life.

Burial will take place following the service at 2:00 PM at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron, Ohio.

Donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation in Bob's memory.
