Albert A. Nuzum
Albert A. Nuzum has gone to his reward. He fought the good fight and kept the faith. He was born in Buchannon, West Virginia on May 31, 1920 and left this earth on June 19, 2008. Preceded in death by parents, J. Dallas and Pearl; also brothers, Raymond, Richard and Paul. He leaves to mourn his wife, Ellene; son, Gerald (Mary); daughters, Carol (Barry) Brockenbrough and Marilyn (Dan) John; grandchildren, Barry and Robert Brockenbrough, Lisa (David) Hartman, Jason (Lisa) Nuzum, Dylan and Lauren John; great-grandchildren, Keristan and Chloe Nuzum and Tyrus Hartman; brother, Carl (Lois) Nuzum; sister, Ruth Ray; many nieces and nephews. Albert worked nearly 45 years at Goodyear Tire. He was a member of the Top Ten Supervisors Club and also received the Goodyear Spirit Award. Albert served in various positions in his church as Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study leader, Deacon, Treasurer and Maintenance Man. He loved woodworking and fast-pitch softball having pitched several no-hit games in church and Y.M.C.A. leagues. The family would like to thank the employees at Pebble Creek Nursing Home and Hospice of Summa. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 22 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Graveside services will take place Monday, June 23 at Hillside Memorial Park beginning at 10:00 a.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 at the Grace Bible Church, 5781 Manchester Rd., Akron OH 44319 with Pastor Jerry Harpool officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace Bible Church.
