Albert Louis Wagner, Sr., "Al", age 82 of Akron, Ohio, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:20 PM at his home.
He was born on July 12, 1933 in Barberton, Ohio, the son of the late Jack and Mary Jane Koser Wagner.
Al was an honorably discharged US Army Veteran during the Korea War. He was also a retired iron worker for Union Local #17. He was a member of the Native American Indian Cultural Center.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Janet R. Bond; his children, Elizabeth Everett, Ronald (Sue) Wagner, Albert L. (Lori) Wagner, Jr., Donald (Debbie) Wagner, and Donna (Benny) Street; his grandchildren, Jonathan Lucas, Richard (Tammy) Lucas, Janet (Jason) Carty, Cheyene Wagner, Savanna Wagner, Rhonda (James) Papp, Jessica (Scott) Cannon, and Deana (Adam) Oxier, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Taylor, and son-in-law, Dennis "Duffy" Everett.
Funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM, where friends and family may visit from 2-4 PM, Sunday, May 8, 2016. Pastor John Beers will celebrate Albert's life.
Burial will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
