Alberta Lenke (Luna)
Alberta Lenke was born October 25, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to Albert and Lois Luna. She passed peacefully from this life into the waiting arms of her Heavenly Father on February 4, 2012 with her husband and daughters by her side.
Bert spent her entire life in Akron, graduating from West High School in 1946 and then began working at Scott's 5 & 10. On July 19, 1947, Bert married her best friend, Richard, and they began their family with the birth of their daughter, Deborah, followed by Kathleen, Constance and Rebecca.
A loving wife and mother, Bert was also a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, and fantastic cook. She was always there when the family needed her unfailing strength and support as the family was for her during her final days.
Bert was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and her unwavering faith brought much peace to her. She was also a member of the" Scott's Girls", former employees of the downtown store who met for lunch and laughter twice a year. Those times with her old friends were a source of great joy to her.
Surviving Bert is her husband of 64 years, Dick; daughters Debbie (Gene) Hamilton, Kathie (Jeff) Peters, Connie Lenke and Becky (Rick) Jenkins; grandchildren, Hollace, Jeff (Melissa), Greg, Tiffany (Dave), Lisa (fiancé Matt), Ellyse (Nick), Amanda (Joe), Tyler and Trevor; great-grandchildren, Russell, Madison, Anastasia, and Derek; sister, Maurelle; sisters-in-law, Fran Luna and Marjorie Lynch; aunt, Sadie DuBois; many nieces and nephews; and special pets, Cinnamon and Andy.
